netGEICAM, launched in 2009, is the first Spanish hospital network created to promote early stage clinical trials in order to evaluate new drugs or combination with high quality procedures.

Our aim is to collaborate with sponsors and help them design and conduct early stage clinical trials. netGEICAM focuses on phase IB  and IIA trials that evaluate a new combination of drugs.

At the time, netGEICAM is formed of nine different hospitals, as listed below.

  • Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Victoria, Málaga.
  • Hospital Clínico Universitario, Barcelona.
  • Hospital del Mar, Barcelona.
  • Instituto Catalán de Oncología (ICO), Barcelona.
  • Complejo Hospitalario Universitario, A Coruña.
  • Instituto Valenciano de Oncología (IVO), Valencia.
  • Hospital Universitario Virgen del Rocío, Sevilla.
  • Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón, Madrid.
  • Hospital Clínico San Carlos, Madrid.

These hospitals have been selected after a deep analysis of their research record, infrastructure and their main researchers’ resumé.

netGEICAM is currently conducting two breast cancer studies and has two proposals in development, and the platform is open to drug research for other kinds of tumors.
